Tasha is pregnant! Our vet has confirmed that Tasha is pregnant with at least 3 puppies. This litter will be due April 17. We will do an xray in 2-3 weeks to see if we can determine litter size. Two puppies are already spoken for, so if you are interested in one of Tasha's puppies, please don't delay! You can email me at susan@tailsandtrails.ca or call 613-818-0222 for more information.

Ruby and Robin are 4 weeks old; some gorgeous photos to share
Our puppies are already 4 weeks old. It seems like a blink and suddenly they are playing not only with mom and each other but with us! It is so exciting to see their little tails wag and their ears go back because they're happy to see people.
Ruby is a very pretty girl; feminine and perky with her ears already up. Her eyes will definitely be brown. What a smart little spark she is, watchful and opinionated.
Robin is stocky and bear-like and his sweet eyes are currently grey coloured. Judging from past experience we think his eyes will be amber or gold coloured and his brown coat will turn a nice dark reddish hue.
Both puppies are loving their moistened kibble at lunch, but Robin seemed to be ready to try something solid last week! When we had workers in the nursery, we moved Hibou and pups to the kitchen and boy, did Robin get in trouble for poking his little nose into Hibou's bowl.

We had an amazing young photographer visit us a couple of weeks ago and she posted some of her pictures on her smugmug account. Here is the link. Lynda Graveline will be back tomorrow to take some more pictures of the Ancient Moon gang!

Puppies are 3 weeks old!
Hibou loves her puppies but is happy they have started to amuse themselves by playing. They are a little more mobile now and are ready for the divider in their box to be taken out and to be given a bathroom area.
They make the funniest little barks when they are startled by the sound of a closing door! I have also heard tiny little howls coming from the whelping box when cuddling with Hibou.
Hibou is doing great and is raring to go for several walks a day. She loves visitors, so feel free to arrange to come by and see the puppies.

Hibou and Madoc - February 7, 2012
Hibou had two beautiful red and white puppies on February 7, 2012, The male is darker red and the female is lighter red with a white splash on her left shoulder. Neither have their eyes open yet, but any day now!
